Nausea & Shudder

So long, to the other side of the light
So long, to the nameless liberty
So long, swallow your fear
So long, fly higher than anyone

Peel off your wings full of holes, prise your eyes open and jump in
It may be a muddy heaven, but for those who live there, it's paradise
The days have had their gilt plating peeled off, but still you must shoulder them and face the monotonous jeering
Keep going, as if gouging out a wound; the reality before your eyes is everything

So long, pierce the darkness
So long, to the nameless liberty
So long, swallow your fear
So long, your trembling heartbeat

Loop, I answer my own questions - loop, I hate myself
At the end of a looping pain, I gaze at heaven's door

The bird who broke from the flock to head west eventually knew loneliness
And seeing its thin wings, it said, "Is everything I've wished for there?"
Its shadow falling over the ends of the earth rather than the same scenery everyone's seen
And it prayed strongly to the lamplight that seemed about to go out

In deep slowly sky
Trembling as you fumble for the future, if you're just going to stand there, that's all right, too
The "nameless liberty" I left behind laughed as it said that

And now here I bathe in the light, vowing a dream of never turning my eyes from the flickering future
